Full STEAM Forward Africa

By 2050, one third of the world's 15-24 year olds will live in Africa.

Full STEAM Forward works with parter schools across the continent in connection with funders and philanthropies committed to expanding access to education for girls in Africa.

With 60% of the population in Africa under the age of 25, Africa is the youngest continent in the world in terms of age structure. This young population represents the continents' growth potential and ability to participate on the global stage.

Kenya Welcomes Full STEAM Forward

In Africa, we offer a three-year/nine module curriculum as in the US. While the core content mirrors our U.S. program, each lesson is customized to reflect the cultural and logistical needs of the communities we serve. We use locally sourced materials to support ease of scaling. Our hybrid teaching model, with one of our teachers projected onto a screen and 2 local teachers in the classroom, supports the continued delivery of our high quality pedagogy while training local teaching talent for expansion.

In Partnership with Prince Dan Academy in Kajiado Town outside of Nairobi, we have a cohort of 15 girls starting our Year 3 (5th & 6th grade) curriculum!

AI Comes to Africa

We are beyond excited to bring our AI curriculum to the incredible girls in Kenya. Over 23 weeks, we guide them through the fascinating world of artificial intelligence, what it is, how it works, and how it shapes our everyday lives. Watching their curiosity grow week after week is truly inspiring. To wrap up their AI journey, the girls undertake an ambitious final project: building their own AI-powered chatbots.

Working in teams, they train their bots using real data, design custom websites, and imagine bold, creative ways AI can be used to solve real-world problems. Their ideas are nothing short of amazing, ranging from bots focused on cleaning beaches and protecting endangered animals to promoting mental wellness and healthy eating habits. These young innovators remind us just how powerful it is when girls have the tools and support to explore cutting-edge technology. Not only do they learn they lead.
